We are always looking for ways to show our appreciation, so in celebration of MLB Opening Day, I visited each of our MLB food and beverage venues and suprised lucky fans with a day of free concessions. Below is a snapshot of the experiences I shared with fans during my Opening Day tour. #CarlPays
ARAMARK OPENS BASEBALL SEASON WITH ROSTER OF MOUTHWATERING MENUS
Our chefs at our eight MLB food and beverage venues worked hard in the off season to come up with delicious new items for the 2017 season. These new items were featured in a press release that gained local and national media attention.
Introducing John Dough Pizza Co.
Our culinary and design teams have been developing and growing our line of proprietary brands. This baseball season, we introduced our newest concept, John Dough Pizza Co. Making it's debut this baseball season at Coors Field, John Dough is a quick fire pizza concept where guests can customize their after bake toppings, giving their pie it's own identity.
Zoom Food Expands in MLB
Innovation and technology continue to be major areas of focus as we strive to provide best-in-class services for you, our partners. Perhaps our most innovative concept to date, Zoom Food allows customers to place their order at self-service kiosks. After an order is placed, guests pick up their food at the designated pick up window and fill up their drink at the self service beverage station. This concept gives customers ultimate control and has been proven to decrease wait times, allowing for increased transactions during peak periods. Our Zoom Food concept has now expanded to four locations, as it is now a reality at both Citizens Bank Park (background image) and Rogers Centre (below).
Shake Shack opens at minute maid park
We opened our second Shake Shack location at Minute Maid Park on Opening Day as a part of a large center field renovation. Our recently formed partnership with Shake Shack gives us the exclusive rights to the brand in sports venues. We look forward to further expanding our Shake Shack footprint in the coming NFL and Arena seasons.
TOPPS AND ARAMARK TEAM UP FOR INCREDIBLE EATS SET
We teamed up with Topps, the exclusive trading card partner of Major League Baseball, to create a distinct set of baseball cards that celebrate some of the most iconic foods in baseball. The set features seven Aramark signature dishes that can be found around the ballpark this season.
Aramark Partners with World Renowned Mixologist
We partnered with Alchemy Consulting and master mixologist Joaquin Simo to create a new, craft cocktail concept, Elxxir. Elxxir made its debut at The Philadelphia Convention Center for Flower Show and at Phoenix Convention Center for the NCAA March Madness Final Four Fan Fest.
ARAMARK Retail Wins U.S. OPEN
We are thrilled to continue growing our retail merchandise business through our new partnership with the US Tennis Association. Our retail team continues to raise the bar and will now manage all aspects of the retail operation at the US Tennis Center for the US Open.
Aramark Provides Retail Merchandise at NFL Combine
Our retail team recently managed all aspects of the NFL Shop at Combine, a four day event held in Indianapolis, Indiana. We brought 30,000 visitors to the Shop, successfully operating a 5,500 square foot store with 400 unique SKUs and 40 Combine specific SKUs. Next, our talented retail team will manage all aspects of the retail operations for the NFL Draft in Philadelphia.
Merchandise locker program piloted at wells fargo center
Our retail and marketing teams worked together to pilot a retail merchandise order pickup solution at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The technology allows fans to place merchandise orders online for pickup in one of the 11 designated lockers on game day. The lockers provide a convenient alternative for fans who do not want to wait in line at the team store.
Kauffman STADIUM Remodels
This past off-season, we collaborated with the Royals on a total renovation of the Majestic Team Store. The 5,500 square foot store was completely gutted and built back from the ground up. Highlights include a 16’ garage door from the concourse that serves as the grand entrance, full LED lighting, a new, shiny blue floor, unique graphics that highlight the history of the franchise, and a new checkout area to improve the flow of fans through the Team Store.
This off season, we also helped renovate the Diamond Club at Kauffman Stadium. Along with a whole new, upgraded design, we introduced many new and innovative menu items like jalapeño poppers, rotisserie chicken meals and liquid nitrogen spun ice cream. Our Executive Chef, James Mehne, was interviewed about the new Diamond Club; watch the video to see how we are taking premium to a whole new level.
Expanding Burger Kitchen
We are excited to announce the expansion of our proprietary Burger Kitchen brand in Minor League Baseball! Located at Victory Field in Indianapolis, this marks our second Burger Kitchen location after the original at US Bank Stadium. After showing great results in Minneapolis, we can't wait to see the success and impact it makes!
