The Great Schism

Leo IX led the Great Schism of 1054. The split was between the western and eastern Christian Churches.

Leo IX was the Catholic Churches 151st pope. He was the pope for 5 years.

Leo IX’s feast day is on April 19. He also died on this day.

St. Dominic

St Dominic was a Spanish priest who lived from 1170 to 1221. He was the founder of the Dominican Order of friars and nuns.

St Dominic founded an order that focused on getting out among the people and showing God's love.

St Dominic is the patron saint of Astronomers and the Dominican Republic.

This is two different pictures of him and two picture of what he is a saint of.

St. Francis of Assisi

St Francis of Assisi left his good life to live in poverty after reportedly hearing the voice of God. God commanded him to live in poverty and rebuild the christian church.

St Francis of Assisi Created an order where all members took a vow of poverty and worshiped God.

St Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment.
