Old World, New World
I learned my trade through my work in the restoration of traditional stained glass in Italy. I was technically trained by the masters while my work often reflect innovative design from the new world.
I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Accademia di Brera in Milan, Italy and a Master of Fine Arts Restoration degree from Art Chateau du Verre Annesy, France. I've been involved in glass art as an artist and teacher since 1981.
I am an instructor at Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, Washington as well as a teacher through classes and workshops in Turkey, Italy, across Europe, and the United States. There's something magical that happens while co-creating with students that continues to inspire me.
Methods and Practices
I have researched and studied methods and practices in stained glass, glass blowing, fusing, sand casting, painting, etching, and engraving. I also have experience in mosaics, veneer applications, blast molding, woodworking, welding, and fabrication.
My work has been on display in galleries in the United States and Europe for 17 years. In addition to being commissioned by private collectors, I have also designed/produced public projects.
