The Finance Director manages the financial activities and accounting functions of the City, directs the operations of the Finance Department and Municipal Court, is responsible for protecting and managing the City’s financial assets, and provides financial analysis and planning to the City Manager, City Council, and other city departments.

Philomath lies at the foot of the Marys Peak, the highest point along the Oregon Coast Range, less than an hour from the coast to the west, Salem to the north and Eugene to the south. It neighbors Corvallis, home of Oregon State University.

With an annual General Fund budget of $4.8 million dollars and a total of $11.8 million dollars budgeted for Land, Building, and Equipment for the Fiscal Year 2021-2022, the City is on solid financial footing with several large project ready for construction; namely, a new water reservoir, water treatment plant, downtown streetscapes project, and several local street improvements. The famous Philomath Frolic & Rodeo hosts three nights of rodeo action, chicken BBQ, carnival food, the grand parade, home run derby, cornhole tournament, fish rodeo, as well as live music and dancing on the largest outdoor dancefloor in the state.

Salary Range

$6,738 - $8,858 per month / $80,856 - $106,296 per year

Benefit Package

The City offers a completive benefit package with health and dental insurance, health account contribution, basic life insurance, paid time off, employer and employee portion of PERS, and deferred compensation for management team members.
