Worship at Evergreen

Guest Preaching Series

This fall, we are excited to welcome two incredibly gifted speakers to Evergreen! Rev. Dr. Mary Hulst and Pastor Rich Ferreira will each be teaching at Evergreen for several weeks in the next few months. Pastor Mary is the University Pastor at Calvin University and will teach out of the book of Philippians on six Sundays this fall. Rich is the Director of GTI Tours and will be teaching on the geography, life, and locations of Jesus on three Sundays. We look forward to the new insights and perspectives that Mary and Rich will provide. Come check them out!

We're excited to have Rich Ferreira joining us to preach on four Sundays in the next few months. After graduating with his Masters from Talbot Theological Seminary, Rich and his wife Becky began working full-time for Hume Ministries in 2001. Rich’s passions are discipleship and teaching God’s word in a way that brings it alive in today’s world. In his spare time, Rich enjoys leading Biblical Study Tours (50 trips and counting), motorcycle riding, snowboarding, and spending time with his wife, daughters Ellie and Carmel, and his two sons Jaron and Ronen. In 2016 Rich and his family moved from California to Michigan to join the GTI Tours staff full-time, where he serves as General Manager.

Message: "Through The Roof"• Pastor Rich Ferreira • Mark 2:1-2

This Sunday Rich Ferreira joins us for his first sermon in his series of four entitled “Jesus in His Culture; a Chaotic World.” Rich will walk us through Mark 2 as we explore how we can be brought to the feet of Jesus even when the world around us feels chaotic!

Join us for church outdoors at Evergreen at 10AM!

If you are unable to join us, you can use this link to join us virtually through Zoom. We are using the same link each week: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86799658645

We are so thankful that we have been able to worship outdoors with you for the last few months! As we finish up our outdoor worship services for the fall, we are incredibly excited to be able to hear Rev. Mary Hulst and Rich Feirrera speak to us! We have been blessed by some incredible weather! If the weather becomes a bit trickier in September and October, we encourage you to join us on Zoom.

We are excited to announce that we are making plans to begin indoor, in-person gatherings on November 1. As we continue to gather information about the strategies and policies that are working in schools, these next few weeks will allow us time to prepare a safe, convenient, and impactful worship experience for you!

We are so thankful for the work our staff and our community has put in to help us be the church in all of it’s many forms for the last few months, and we continue to be excited to worship with you on Sundays!

We are going to have Communion together!

We will be providing individually wrapped communion elements for each family member at Evergreen. If you are joining us through Zoom, we would love for you to use elements you have at your disposal, whether that is bread, crackers, juice, or something similar. We’re so thankful to be able to celebrate communion together in person and from a distance!

Can't make church at 10AM?

Welcome to our guided worship collection. In these links, you will find songs, scripture, and a message from current weeks, and also weeks past. All of this content will be matched up with the worship that we will be doing together on Sunday mornings. We understand that gathering together at a certain time, whether that be in person or on Zoom, isn't always realistic for everyone, but we also believe in the importance of participating in worship regularly and consistently. We hope that this provides a space for you to worship God regularly and consistently in the times we can't be gathered together.

Are you looking for ways to connect gospel stories with your kids at a time when normal childhood programming isn't available? Check out our family activity guide, which has simple and easy activities that make it easy to communicate the truths of the gospels to your kids!

Giving at Evergreen

Evergreen is working hard to continue to care well for our church and our community. Like many businesses, families, and organizations, the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus put churches in a difficult financial situation. If you would like to give financially in the weeks in which we are unable to gather, you can do so by clicking this button:

4 Corners Offering

This fall, we are partnering with Kids Coalition Against Hunger for our corners offering. Kids Coalition Against Hunger is an organization that looks to fight against child hunger both locally, nationally, and globally. After our pop can drive, we are now back to collecting money on Sunday mornings to help purchase supplies to pack meals this fall. We are continuing conversations with Kids Coalition Against Hunger to find out how we can safely and appropriately continue to participate in both financial and meal-packing support this fall.

Kids Ministries Now Available

We are excited to add some children's programming to our outdoor services! We will be dismissing children ages two to second grade after singing to join us in the backyard of Evergreen for a lesson, small discussion, and activity! You'll be able to pick your child up from next to the Gaga Ball Pit after the service.

Evergreen Spotlight

We are so thankful for the team at Evergreen who serves in the Hand2Hand ministry. We are happy that, despite some alterations to routine, we have still been able to deliver food bags to Bauerwood this school year! Special thanks to Jen Essenburg for the work she does leading that team! If you'd like to find a way to be involved in this ministry, connect with Jen at jenessenburg@outlook.com

Evergreen Small Groups

We all walk through life yearning to be known, valued, and loved. By spending time with people who are willing to get to know us deeply and purposefully, we allow those relationships to create radical growth and change in our faith. Evergreen has several small group opportunities to explore this fall! If you are interested in any of these in-person or online communities, click the link below.
