"When we designed the first floor of Hope, we had three goals: first, to more actively display, elevate and narrate Mary C. Wheeler’s work (soon to be re-hung in studio-style); second, to create a space that would be fitting for all kinds of collaboration and connection, between all members of our community; and third, to represent upon first entry into the building the kind of environment Wheeler is: open, inviting, thought-FULL, and bustling. As we complete the final touches, including photographs and art for the hallways, hanging Mary Wheeler’s portrait, and displaying our mission, we hope that as any visitor and student enters 216 Hope Street (and alumni return), they will feel the energy and dynamism of this wonderful place of learning." Allison Gaines Pell, Head of School.
This week, we uncovered a secret door and shared our best back to school moments in this #FirstDayWheeler photo album. Girl's Varsity Tennis has their eyes set on a championship season, and the Envirothon team returns from a Top 20 (#19) spot in the Nationals excited for new challenges. We welcome Rachel Spaulding to the Wheeler community as the new Head of Advancement, and we welcome the Providence Children's Film Festival to our campus, the second community non-profit to find its home at Wheeler. Don't forget, picture day is coming up!
The first day always goes by in a flash!
