Cold Leadership 2.5.17

Leadership isn't always pretty. There are situations where it seems like you just want to fire everyone around you. However, tough love is not the answer, but cold leadership is.

I've always loved the saying "Just walk away" but I never realized how much you need to do it. The amount of times that people frustrate you or disappoint you is endless. It seems like almost everyday that someone around you lets you down. But the real question is, how are you going to react to it? Is it getting mad? Is it telling your boss or friend? Is it arguing with them? Because all of the above and more are wrong. You need to approach it a smarter way, a more clever way, a more impactful way. Here's the answer. Cold leadership.

So what is this cold leadership? Here's what it's not:

  1. An easy way out
  2. An excuse to put things off
  3. A difficult strategy to use

So what is it? Why is it effective? How and when do I apply it? Well let's start with the basic principles of cold leadership:

  1. Forgive
  2. Let it go
  3. Give no attention

Let me guess, you're thinking "yeah right". How in the world do these simple things work?
