For the Health Dept., War Memorial, & Family Court Roof Replacement Project HALL a/e/c PA was retained to provide design services for three different county owned facilities located in Chester County, South Carolina. Each roof and associated issues were distinctly different from the others. The scope of this project only involved re-roofing of the existing buildings without any other required modifications, HALL was able to provide all of the required design services in house without the need for any additional consultants. Following a thorough investigation and analysis of all three roofs, HALL provided design solutions for each of them. The Health Department building was designed with a PVC membrane roof over the existing tectum wood deck while both the Family Court Building and War Memorial Building were provided a new modified bitumen membrane roof over the existing lightweight concrete deck. New primary and secondary drainage systems and metal coping were also provided as part of the project.Project complete. $650,000.00.
The Government Center Roof Retrofit & Mechanical Systems Upgrade Project HALL was retained to provide a design solution for the roof and mechanical systems upgrade of the Chester County Government Center Complex that was in need of replacement. The firm was able to address not only the functional needs of the roof replacement but was also able to address the building aesthetics by providing a standing seam metal roof system that was retrofitted to the existing flat roof building along with an entirely new mechanical system upgrade and replacement. Metal trusses provide the support for the new standing seam metal roof and also provide additional space for new HVAC equipment to be installed as part of the project. The new HVAC equipment not only provides greater operational efficiency but new units were able to be relocated away from areas where the noise of operation had become an issue. Following the design phase of the project, HALL assisted Chester County with the public bid and procurement process. The firm was able to deliver the project at approximately ten percent under budget. Project complete 2016. $1,600,000.00.
