Travel with Erin NORTHERN CAPITALS June 6-17, 2020

Join me, Erin for another fun, group trip experience!

I am thrilled to announce that the 7th annual Travel with Erin group trip will be June of 2020 to Northern Europe with the option to add on an extension for 3 nights to St Petersburg, Russia. This itinerary is so exciting!!

Those of you wishing to continue on to Russia the tour for you would end on June 20, 2020. VISA required.

As many of you know I like to do some fun things with you that you would only get to experience when traveling with me on one of my annual trips. I would love it if each of you can come in and book a pre-night leaving the US on June 6, 2020 arriving in Copenhagen on June 7, 2020. The evening on June 7th I will treat everyone to dinner at a local restaurant. The next day would then allow time for " A day out in Copenhagen with Erin" visiting sights and learning a little more about the Viking history. Schedule TBD.

The Itinerary

June 6, 2020 - leave the US for an overnight flight.

June 7, 2020- Welcome to Denmark. Let's get settled into the hotel and have a nice dinner courtesy of Travel by Erin!

June 8, 2020- Day out with Travel by Erin, details TBD. Tonight, meet our tour director for dinner at 6pm in our hotel.

June 9, 2020- Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide, features the Church of Our Savior and the Stock Exchange on the way to Christiansborg Palace, where you visit the elegant ROYAL RECEPTION ROOMS. Drive past the National Museum and the Royal Theater, and stop for pictures of Amalienborg Palace with its lovely flower gardens, and of the wistful LITTLE MERMAID. Afternoon at leisure. Tonight, visit TIVOLI GARDENS (mid-April to mid-Sept.), the city’s colorful amusement park.

June 10, 2020-COPENHAGEN–GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN–OSLO, NORWAY From Elsinore beneath Hamlet’s Kronborg Castle, board your FERRY for Helsingborg. Then, drive to Gothenburg, Sweden’s thriving second-largest city and admire its beautiful parks, botanical gardens, and well-kept canals during your orientation tour. Highlight is a visit to Gothenburg’s famous indoor FOOD MARKET to taste local snacks at some of the stalls. In the afternoon, continue along the Skagerrak coastline to Norway. Evening arrival in Oslo.

June 11, 2020- Today gives you a proper introduction to Oslo, the country’s hub of trade and industry. Sightseeing with a Local Guide features the National Theater, considered the home for Ibsen’s plays; the unique Storting building, seat of Parliament; and the Royal Palace, residence of Norwegian monarchs since 1849. Stroll through magnificent FROGNER PARK with Gustav Vigeland’s extraordinary sculptures; and visit the CITY HALL, where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held each year. Interesting optional excursions are available.

June 12, 2020-Trace the King’s Road, an ancient trade link between the northern capitals connecting Oslo, Stockholm, Turku, Helsinki, and St. Petersburg. Cross the Swedish border to scenic Värmland, beautifully described in Selma Lagerlöf’s Gösta Berlings Saga, on the way to Karlstad on Lake Vänern. Pass the ancient garrison town of Örebro and modern Eskilstuna, known for its stainless steel, and proceed to Stockholm.

June 13, 2020- Stockholm is settled on 14 islands between Lake Mälar and the Baltic Sea. Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide includes the Royal Palace; Riddarholm Church, a walk through the OLD TOWN, and the festive blue and gold chambers in the CITY HALL, where the annual Nobel Prize banquet is held. Later, choose from our optional excursions to make the most of your stay.

June 14, 2020-Morning at leisure. Why not join an excursion to Uppsala? Later, board your ship for the overnight Globus Local Favorite BALTIC SEA CRUISE to Finland, and enjoy a traditional Smörgåsbord dinner.

June 15, 2020- Guided sightseeing of Helsinki features the City Hall and Parliament House, the Presidential Palace, the monumental railroad station, the great LUTHERAN CATHEDRAL, the Olympic Stadium, and the SIBELIUS MONUMENT. Time to browse for souvenirs in Helsinki’s local arts and crafts OPEN-AIR MARKET.

June 16, 2020- A full day at leisure offers the opportunity to join an exciting optional excursion to Tallinn, capital of Estonia, known as one of the “Pearls of the Baltic” countries. Tonight, dinner has been prepared at the hotel to celebrate the success of your tour of the Northern Capitals. If decide to not continue on to Russia, this will be the day you would leave back to the US.

June 17, 2020- Enjoy a pleasant drive to St. Petersburg, where you will visit magnificent ST. ISAAC’S CATHEDRAL with a Local Guide. This evening, get a real taste of traditional Russian delicacies and enjoy a Globus Local Favorite traditional dinner at your hotel with caviar, blini, pickled cucumber, and vodka.

June 18, 2020-Guided sightseeing starts with the Winter Palace complex, now home of the world-famous HERMITAGE MUSEUM, with celebrated works by Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci.

June 19, 2020-Travel to Pushkin and visit magnificent CATHERINE PALACE (if closed, visit PAVLOVSK PALACE instead). The balance of the day is at leisure; optional activities are available to further explore this fascinating city.

June 20, 2020- Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning.

  • If you choose to come in early, the pre-night in Copenhagen is $146 per person when sharing a room. Please let me know if you need single occupancy rates.
  • The main tour cost is $2692 per person when sharing a room with another person. Please connect with me for single occupancy rates if you wish to have a room to yourself.
  • The extension to Russia is an additional $905 per person when sharing a room with someone. Please connect with me for single occupancy rates.
  • Airfare will be an additional cost to the above rates. The expected release dates for airfare is August 2019.

These rates are the projected rates for 2020, if the brochure rates come in lower I will make sure that we all get the lowest price.

Globus has stopped the Journeys Club discount but is offering a welcome back discount if you traveled on a Globus trip in 2018 or if you are already registered as a previous Journeys Club Member. The welcome back discount is $135 per person which replaces the previous loyalty membership.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended and will be available to accept or decline in the booking form.

Included meals

  • Breakfast daily
  • Those coming in for a pre night - 1 dinner hosted by Erin.
  • 4 -dinners included during the main tour
  • 1 additional dinner included for those continuing on to Russia.


  • $250 deposit per person to secure your space.
  • An additional deposit of $300 is due in August 2019 if you chose to book airfare through Globus. You may also book airfare on your own if you prefer.

Final Payment date

  • Final payment will be due on or before March 20, 2020


When you place your deposit and fill out the booking form, I will need you to tell me who your roommate will be. You will need to have a discussion with them because if they cancel you will now have an increased single occupancy charge if you travel as a single. If you both buy the cancel for any reason insurance this will not happen, you will be price protected but you both must buy the plan.


Always highly recommend as life happens!! This will cover you for medical, missed connections, trip delays and more. The cancel for any reason through Globus is $249 each. When adding on the extension to Russia the cost will be $299 each. Refunds would be in the form of a voucher for future travel, cash back or mix of both depending on when you cancel. It will also price protect you if your roommate cancels but both of you must purchase the plan. Third party insurance can be quoted as well.

Travel Documentation

Each person will need a valid passport with at least 6 full months before the expiration date from the day we arrive in Europe.

A VISA is required to enter Russia, please see the link to review how you should obtain this required document.
