"A FEAST FOR THE SENSES” - Blake Nelson, The Nevada Sagebrush
“BodyVox’s dance illuminates” - The Orange County Register.
“Cosmosis will be a feast for the eyes, ears and imagination as six dancers, a live string quartet and two short films simultaneously captivate the audience,” says Mark Magruder, professor of performing arts and dance at Sweet Briar College. “This unique and exciting event is not to be missed!”

BodyVox presents a provocative marriage of dance theater, film, and live chamber music in Cosmosis. This show is a sweeping, highly dramatic piece of theater created by BodyVox Artistic Directors Jamey Hampton and Ashley Roland. The production features a string quartet as an integral part of the theatrical arc of the dance, drawing upon their articulate and passionate approach to music.

Cosmosis includes nine pieces set to live music by Barber, Debussy, and Ravel, as well as contemporary composers, including original commissions, and the music of alt rock legend Eliott Smith newly arranged for string quartet. Cosmosis promises to be a crossover production that appeals to music lovers and dance fans alike!

BodyVox On Tour includes an Outreach Activity to be developed in collaboration with the presenter. It also includes a robust Media and Marketing support package.
