TATE STOCK- CHS CLASS OF 2011

CEO & FOUNDER OF CHIRP

CHS Alumni, Tate Stock, invented a back-pain relief wheel from $450 worth of sewer pipes and yoga mats during his final semester of college. Originally marketed as a yoga product that made $12,000 in its debut on Amazon, the Chirp wheel has grown into a multimillion dollar company that has sold over 4 million units. Tate was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2020 (top 30 entrepreneurs under the age of 30).

CELEBRATING CAREERS IN CONSTRUCTION MONTH

Careers in Construction Month (CICM) is a nationwide campaign held every October to increase public awareness of construction careers, inspire the next generation of craft professionals and make an impact on the perceptions of a career in construction.

CONSTRUCTION CAREER: CONCRETE FINISHER

Average Salary: $48,330

Concrete finishers build foundations, floors, walls, roads and other structures that are made using concrete.

In Washington, students complete one of two applications to be considered for student financial aid: the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or the WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid).

WASHINGTON APPLE EDUCATION FOUNDATION (WAEF) SCHOLARSHIPS

Over $1 million in scholarships awarded last year!

The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) Scholarship application is now open until March 1, 2022.

Eligibility Criteria:

Washington Apple Education Foundation/ Universal Scholarship

Students raised in families with direct ties to Washington’s tree fruit industry are eligible to apply. Ties to the industry are created through immediate family member or personal employment in an apple, cherry or pear orchard or warehouse in Washington, immediate family ownership of an apple, cherry or pear orchard or warehouse in Washington or immediate family employment in a company directly serving the apple, cherry or pear industry in Washington

Washington Apple Education Foundation/Vocational Scholarship

Washington state high school seniors or current college students from Washington are eligible. Path of study should align with potential work in the tree fruit industry. Types of appropriate courses include refrigeration, electrical, IT, computer applications, HVAC, machine technology, and others.

VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIRS

The virtual fairs offer a dynamic digital meeting space for connecting students and families with colleges and universities. NACAC Virtual College Fairs inspire students to explore their options and pursue their college dreams.

CHS Students will have the AMAZING opportunity to learn about careers in the justice system from judges, lawyers, law enforcement officers, probation officers, US Marshals, court reporters, court interpreters and college recruiters! Students will be joined in-person and virtually with other schools in Washington State. Students will need school approval to attend.
