Chocolate Loaf Cake Lily Sickman-Garner

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup milk

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Combine butter, sugar, salt, vanilla, baking powder, and cocoa powder in an electric mixer.

2. Beat in one egg at a time.

3. Add half of the flour and mix.

4. Add all of the milk and mix.

5. Add the remainder of the flour and mix.

6. Pour into pan and bake for 70 minutes.

7. Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove and place on rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
