Pastors' News

Week of Worship

The Theme is: 'Life is Wild, But God is Good’

This week is an all out adventure with the Junior School and their Week of Worship program.

Our speaker for this week, Pastor Horace Evans, is sharing through Bible stories and his own personal story. Pastor Evans talks about when life sometimes gets rough and does not go the way we think it should, we can always rely on God for He is help and strength in time of trouble.

There is still time for you as parents to pop in to chapel this week and see what is going on in our Junior School Week of Worship.

Year 6 Carnival Car Wash - Friday 27th September 2019

We would like to extend our sincere thank you to everyone involved in making our Carnival and Car Wash Fundraiser event on Friday, 27th September such a great success. The kids had loads of fun, there were prizes galore (thank you parents for sending these in!!), we washed over 50 cars and raised around $3100 on the day.

It was a phenomenal team effort and we would not have been able to do this without the help and support of the entire school and local community - so THANK YOU one and all.

The year 6 class has raised around $4300 in total this year and these funds will go towards buying the school a gift from the Year 6 Class of 2019. The Year 6's can be very proud of their efforts!

Library News

Borrowing will finish at the end of Week 5 this term in order to ensure all books are returned before the end of the school year. Please remind your children to bring their library bags each week so they can take advantage of borrowing early in the term, and if all books can be returned promptly by the end of Week 7 it would be much appreciated.

If you are unsure of what books your child has out and when they are due back, please log on to the library WebApp at bit.ly/waslibrary and follow the instructions on the home page to access your child’s library records.

Home and School News

It was a busy end of term 3 with the Dad’s Campout and then the first Parent Master class with Susan McClean from Cybersafety giving our parents a very informative and insight into the risks for our children via electrical devices. Thank you to all who attended either event.

Term 4 we have 2 more social events which are both all school events - Ice Skating and High Tea with Mum.

We are also looking for WAS parents feedback and ideas for 2020....so stay tuned how you can provide that feedback.

We are also leading into the Christmas period and as a school community we have a program called “Beyond the School Yard” where we give to both local and international charities. Stay tuned for what the SRC and Home and School will be running this year.

Meals With Love

Do you know a school family who has just had a new baby, a sick family member, or is going through a bit of a tough time? We would love to be able to support them on behalf of the school community with a Meals With Love meal! Please send us an email and we can have a meal arranged.

If you would like to contribute with a meal, please contact us first as we don't want to overstock our freezer heading into the Summer break. Thanks again for supporting this initiative.
