Battle summary

General Robert's men were occupying the Fredericksburg heights in Spotsylvania County, Virginia when on the 30th of April the 80,000 Union Soldiers Commanded by General Joseph Hooker came to attack.

As Gen. Joseph was attacking his major flaw was that he stopped to set up defences. That gave the Confederate army time to retaliate and on the 2nd of may general Roberts subordinate Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson lead half of the men to the right flank and destroyed it. Jackson was wounded that night.

Joseph fled leaving 27,000 of his men behind most were killed by Roberts men.

the final battles ended may 6th with a total casualty count of 17,278 union soldiers and 12,826 confederate soldiers.
