From Monday, August 20 to Friday, August 24, 24 children aged 4 to 10, 8 Junior Leaders aged 10 to 12 and two Station co-ordinators brought to life St. Martin's 2018 Vacation Bible School program, Babylon, Daniel's Courage in Captivity. Mornings were spent exploring the story of Daniel in song, story, craft and games. Afternoons were spent having fun and developing community. Almost half of the children were newcomers to St. Martin's - but several children were heard to say that they would definitely be back! Thanks to the 13 volunteers who helped with crafts, made and served snacks and coordinated afternoon activities.
In February and March there were two Messy Church events, which gathered around 30 people for supper, games and crafts and worship. Feedback was positive so we've decided to continue! Our first Messy Church of this Fall will be on Wednesday, September 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Martin's. We will start with a supper (with vegetarian and gluten-free options) at 5 p.m., have fun activities for families at about 5:45 p.m. and finish with a short worship service at 6:30 p.m. If you can't make it for supper, come anyways! All ages are welcome, so if your children are grown and away or if you would like to "adopt" some children or grandchildren you are welcome.
On Sunday mornings at the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services, children gather after the Story Time for Wild Goose Club. This is our Sunday morning programming for children aged 3 to 10. Tweens who are in Grade 5 & 6 can join the Junior Youth. Sunday mornings are not just for adults at St. Martin's!
