My Childhood Olivia laduke

From my childhood, I don't remember much but I remember the time I spent with my family on vacations, the friends that I have made, and the memories that I have gained from sports. My family went on many trips such as to Mexico, Florida, St. John, and much more. Being in many sports throughout my child, I have made some life long friendships. Starting cheering for Hornets in kindergarten, I met friends that I'm still friends with and cheer with today for Lemont High School.

My fondest memories are from being dragged along to every one of my brothers baseball games and tournaments. Having two brothers that played travel baseball took up my whole summers traveling to many different tournaments and many different states. Also, starting cheerleading and dance at such a young age led to the hard work, commitment, and passion I still have for cheerleading now!

During my childhood years, I loved Hannah Montana. Every Christmas and Birthday, I would beg for tickets to see her in concert. I was obsessed and would re-watch all of the shows on TV and watched the Hannah Montana movie on repeat. I also was involved with many other sports as well as cheerleading... I played soccer, basketball, and softball.

"Childhood is crucial" -The emotional, social and physical development of young children has a direct effect on their overall development and on the adult they will become. Many people say that the decisions that people tend to make all start in their childhood years.

Previous generations of doctors, psychologists and theorists have studied the development of children because many believe that the habits and decisions made at this stage in life will effect those made later in life. The childhood process is interesting to research because there is many paths that we can take at such a young age to lead us to where we will be later in life.

Personally I would like to study child development because I soon hope to become either a nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist. Right now I work with kids on many different occasions and I really enjoy it. I work at Lifetime Fitness as a swim instructor and a lifeguard so I'm around kids a lot there. Also I babysit during the school year and throughout the summer as well. I've been babysitting for about 5 years now and it has been something that I have always loved. Throughout the cheer season, we do many fundraisers that include interacting with kids from ages 4-14. We teach them the basics of cheerleading and play games with them, it's a really fun time and its great to see all the little ones that look up to us.
