William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-Upon-Avon in 1564.

Shakespeare's parents were named Mary and John. His father never held a job for long; at one point, he was paid to taste beer.

Shakespeare was the third of eight siblings. Their names were Joan, Margaret, Gilbert, Joan, Anne, Richard, and Edmond.

Shakespeare went to a small grammar school near his home. All files from this school were lost.

Shakespeare wrote around 37 plays. His first published play was Henry VI, Part Two.

Shakespeare's wife was named Anne Hathaway. He was 18 and she was 26 when they got married.

Shakespeare and Anne had three children. Their names were Hamnet, Susanna, and Judith.
