MEN'S GOLF HEADED TO SUPER REGIONAL ... The field is set for the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional, and the Florida Southern Moccasins will go into the tournament as the No. 6 seed from the South. It's the 40th consecutive season the Moccasins have earned a bid to the NCAA postseason and their 45th overall. It's a top-heavy field that features every one of the top-10 teams in the final regular season Division II Bushnell/Golfweek coaches' poll, and 17 of the top-25, including 4th-ranked Florida Southern. The tournament will be played at The Shoals Golf Club/Fighting Joe Golf Course in Muscle Shoals, May 8-10 (read more).

FSC WINS SSC WOMEN'S LACROSSE TOURNEY TITLE ... Florida Southern College women's lacrosse raced out to 6-0 lead and never looked back as it topped No. 2 seed Florida Tech, 20-12, to win its second-straight Sunshine State Conference Tournament championship on Sunday. The No. 4 Moccasins (18-2) stormed out of the gates with six goals in the opening five minutes of play to bury the No. 6 Panthers (13-3) in an early hole, and never let up en route to a record-setting 16th-straight victory (read more). It was pretty much the same scenario in the tournament semifinals as the Moccasins jumped out to an 8-1 lead before eliminating Florida Tech, 19-12 (read more).

SANTOLI NAMED SSC PLAYER OF THE YEAR; MOCS DOMINATE ALL-SSC TEAMS ... Florida Southern College women's lacrosse saw eight different players earn all-conference accolades, the Sunshine State Conference announced on Thursday. Junior midfielder Emily Santoli was named as the SSC Player of the Year, marking the first time in that a Moccasin has earned the league's Player of the Year honors (read more).

NCAA SELECTION SHOW ... The NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Selection Show takes place at 8 p.m. on May 7, and can be seen by visiting the championship central page at NCAA.com.

SIX MOCS NAMED TO ALL-SSC LACROSSE SQUADS ... Florida Southern College men's lacrosse had six players selected as all-conference selections, the Sunshine State Conference announced on Thursday. The Moccasins had two second-team selections, two honorable mention players, and two all-freshmen honorees (read more).

MEN'S LACROSSE CAN'T HOLD ON TO BIG LEAD IN SSC SEMIS ... Florida Southern College men's lacrosse raced out to a stunning 6-1 lead over No. 1 seed Tampa, but was unable to hold on for the upset in a 13-12 defeat in the semifinals of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament on Friday evening. The Moccasins (7-8) stunned the Spartans (13-4) by storming out to a 3-0 lead in the first four minutes of action, but Tampa was able to steady itself and outscored the Mocs 10-4 over the final three quarters to earn a trip to the SSC Championship game (read more).

NIONOVA NAMED TO ALL-SSC TENNIS TEAM ... Sasha Nionova has been named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Women's Tennis Second-Team as announced today by the league office. The voting was done by the conference head coaches (read more).

FSC BATTLES VALDOSTA STATE TO THE END IN NCAA SOUTH REGIONAL ... Florida Southern women's tennis season came to an end Monday with a 5-4 setback at the hands of Valdosta State in the opening round of the NCAA Division II South Region I Tournament. The 20th-ranked Moccasins conclude their season with a 15-8 record. With the match tied at 4-all, it came down to the number one singles slot with the Moccasins' Sasha Nionova, ranked 18th in the latest ITA Division II national rankings, facing the Blazers' Bea Morales Hernandez, ranked ninth in the ITA ranking. The two players battled back in forth in the final set, with neither contestant enjoying more than a one game lead. In the end, Hernandez prevailed (read more).

JONES EARNS SSC WEEKLY ACCOLADE ... Florida Southern's Brandi Jones has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week, claiming the last such award from the league office for the 2017 season. The senior from Snellville, Georgia brought her career to an end last weekend by winning two games against the University of Tampa as the Spartans were attempting to clinch the SSC title (read more).

SOFTBALL CLOSES SEASON BY TAKING TWO OF THREE AT TAMPA ... Seven shutout innings by Brandi Jones gave Florida Southern a chance to win Friday night, and though it took one extra inning beyond that, the Moccasins got that win by erupting for three runs on four hits in the top of the eighth inning. They also took advantage of two critical Tampa errors to score those runs and come away with a 3-0 win over the Spartans (read more) ... Shannon Bell delivered over and over for the Moccasins at the plate, Erin Klein came up with two more clutch hits late in the game, and Desirae Klumpp put on a show on offense and defense before Jones secured the win not as a starter but in relief. That combination led Florida Southern to a 9-6 win over Tampa in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader (read more) ... Florida Southern's pitching staff held Tampa to only three hits in the final game of season Saturday, but one of those was a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning which gave the Spartans a 2-0 win over the Moccasins (read more).

SENIOR DAY ... The Moccasins will open their final regular season series on Sunday at 4 p.m. against Barry. Prior to the game, Florida Southern will recognize its 11 senior players. The series concludes on Monday with a noon doubleheader which will be streamed live on fscmocs.com.

MOCS SWEPT ON THE ROAD ... Florida Southern found the going tough on the road last week at Nova Southeastern. In game one of the series, the Mocs scored three runs in the first inning, but watch the Sharks come back with seven unanswered runs. FSC added five runs late, but it wasn't enough in a 9-8 loss (read more) ... It was a repeat in game two as Nova Southeastern took a 7-0 lead before eventually taking a 7-2 decision (read more) ... In the series finale, FSC took leads of 4-0 and 8-4 but fell 13-8 a the end (read more).

FSC RANKED FOURTH IN LATEST NCAA REGION POLL ... In the all-important NCAA Division II South Region Poll released today, the Moccasins (30-13, 8-10) dropped one spot to number four. The poll is conducted among the same committee that will select the seven -team regional field on May 10. Delta State holds down the top spot (read more).

KEMBOI JUST MISSES SCHOOL RECORD ... Festus Kemboi posted a 31:38.78 in the 10,000-meter championship race at the GINA Relays in Hillsdale, Mich., just .24 seconds off the school record time of 31:38.54, set by Scott Mackley at the Walt Disney World Invitational on March 18, 2009 (read more).
