In the Breeze... Center for Wind Energy at James Madison University

News from the Center for Wind Energy

Wanted: JMU students interested in renewable energy who can commit to projects over the 2017 summer break. We have several projects and events in the works and we need motivated students to help us out!

We will be bringing in up to ten interns to assist with projects funded by DMME, USDA, and the Department of Energy. Many CWE projects in the past have been utilized as topics for JMU capstone projects and presentations at national conferences.

JMU has been chosen as 1 of the 12 colleges invited to compete in the Department of Energy 2018 Collegiate Wind Competition!

Preparations for team selection begin over the 2017 summer break.

We want to hit the ground running in the Fall 2017 semester!

Did you know that teachers and organizations can arrange to visit the turbine facility on East Campus?

The Center for Wind Energy offers tours of the Small Wind Training and Testing Facility, the CSEP Solar Facility and our main off-campus high bay spaces and turbine displays.

So far this year more than 400 students have visited the facility!
