Should We Have Zoos? By Conner M.

What if there were no zoos? Imagine if your school field trip was cancelled because the local zoo was shut down for “a good cause.” Well, there is a debate about if we should have zoos. I think we should have zoos because people have to travel a long way, zoos help animals, people can learn from zoos, and many other reasons. First of all, people have to go really long distances just so they can see an animal. They shouldn't have to do that. Some people can't see an animal because it costs so much money to travel the world. Some people can't see the animal because it is too dangerous, like a tiger. Also, if we didn't have zoos, then some animals wouldn't be cared for and protected from predators. Some animals would probably become endangered if we don't have zoos anymore. For example, elephants. Poachers are killing them for their tusks, and for other reasons. If we shut down zoos, then they won't be protected as much. Another reason that I think that we should keep zoos is because people can learn from it. Especially kids under 18. A lot of people would not know about animals as much if there were no zoos. Zoos can be fun, but they can also be educational. Zoos can help a lot of animals. They can also help people. That is what I think about this debate. I hope you think that way too.
