iPads & Winter Break

iPads were sent home with all Harris students for Winter Break this year. Students who have not finished eLearning from December 16th should complete this work by Monday, December 23rd. E-learning days are considered a valuable learning experience for all students.

We ask that students do not adjust settings on the devices. iPads should be returned to school charged and ready for learning on Monday, January, 6, 2020.

Character Trait of the Month

Congratulations to these students who were recognized by their teacher for the character quality of Generosity in December. We have so many wonderful Harris leaders!

First and Second Grade Music

Mark your calendars and plan to join your first and second grade student for an "informace" at Harris. Please see the attached note from Mr. Buckalew our Music teacher.

Third Grade Music

Harris 3rd grade students look forward to showcasing their learning for family and friends in March. Please see below for more information.

Field Trips and Parent Volunteers

If you plan to attend a field trip with your student, you must have a background check on file. Please complete the Volunteer Application for this background check. The system has a delay, so you want to be sure to take care of this well in advance. The link is below.

Parent Volunteers: Our volunteer profile form is available for the 19-20 school year. Just click the link below! You have to be approved to work as a classroom volunteer and to chaperone field trips. The system has a delay, so you want to be sure to take care of this well in advance of volunteering.

Breakfast and Lunch

Lunch Accounts: You may put lunch money in your child's account at www.ezschoolpay.com. There is a small fee and you will need your child's student number found in PowerSchool. Lunch money may also be submitted by check. Please be sure to keep your child's lunch account in good standing. Additionally, our cafeteria computer system does not have the capabilities to put a "block" on student lunch accounts for purchasing extra lunch items. Please talk to your child if you do not want them purchasing extra items.

Lunch Visits: If you plan to visit during lunch, please remember that school rules apply for students: students must remain in their assigned seat, follow cafe rules, ask to use the restroom and remain in the cafe. Any food brought should only be shared with your student. Due to food allergies and illness, please do not share food with other students.

Attendance: We encourage all of our students to attend school whenever they are well enough to do so. Good school attendance is important in helping students achieve academic and social/emotional success.

PTO: The next PTO Meeting at Harris is Jan. 15 @ 2:30 PM here at Harris. We hope you can join them.

Smencil sales were back this past week and were very successful. Students love these! Thanks to PTO for sponsoring this fun.
