Northwood Men's Cross Country ALL-DECADE TEAM (2010-19)

Selections and comments by Travis McCurdy, Northwood Assistant Athletic Director for Communications

Northwood men's cross country finished the decade on a big upswing. But there were a number of great athletes earlier in the decade as well. This was a very tough list to narrow down!

(NOTE - this team is in alphabetical order)

Zane Aldrich (2018-19)

  • Ranks eighth in Northwood history in the 8,000 meters (20:19)
  • Stands 11th in NU history in the 10,000 meters (32:57)
  • Was Northwood's top finisher at the 2019 regional championship (36th)
This spot on the list was the toughest call - it was really down to Zane and his teammate Parker Hayes. I went with Zane for slightly better results over the last two years combined. But it was really, really close!

Michael Beard (2007-10)

  • Earned a top-20 finish at the 2010 GLIAC Championship, placing 19th overall
  • Was also Northwood's top finisher at the 2010 regional championship
  • Ranks seventh in school history in the 8,000 meters (25:29)

Brian Patrick (2017-19)

  • Became first All-American in program history in 2018, placing 36th at the NCAA Championships
  • Was just the second cross country runner to qualify for the NCAA Championships
  • His 12th place finish at the 2018 Regional is the best at the event in school history
  • Ranks fifth in school history in the 8,000 and fourth in the 10,000
Without question, Brian's 2018 cross country season is one of the individual highlights of the decade.

Marcus Rogers (2010-13)

  • Registered Northwood's second-best finish of the decade at the GLIAC Championship, placing 18th at the 2012 Championships
  • Ranks ninth in program history in the 8,000 meters (25:35) and 10th in the 10,000 meters (32:56)
  • Was NU's top finisher at the GLIAC Championships in 2011 & 2013 as well as the NCAA Regional Championships in 2011 & 2013

Enock Rono (2012-13)

  • Stands fourth in school history in the 8,000 meters (25:08) and fifth in the 10,000 meters (32:18)
  • Led Northwood at the 2012 GLIAC and NCAA Regional Championships
  • Was NU's top finisher in all six events in 2012
