It is caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi, which is transmitted by the deer tick.

The lyme disease is most found in the north eastern part of the US.

Signs and symptoms: Pain in the joints or muscles. Stiffness or swelling in the bone or joints . Bull's-eye pattern or rash. (shown in the picture above)

Treatment and cures: Antibiotics, Penicillin Antibiotic, and non Steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

Number of deaths caused by lyme disease: As seen on the picture, there have been a great amount of deaths ranging from 2007-2011.

Ways to prevent the disease:

1. Wear repellent 2.Check for ticks daily 3. shower soon after being outdoors

(Swelling of the joints, bulls-eye pattern)
