The Spirit of New England is the Spirit of America.
REASONS FOR FOUNDING
The reason for founding the New England colonies was that the Puritans wanted religious freedom, and a tolerant place to live. The Puritans believed that wearing colorful clothing meant that a person was trying to standout, and brag and so they wore all black and white and led modest, peaceful lives. The Puritans believed in hard work from dusk until dawn. Church attendance was mandatory.
