Promise of Rest

Matthew 11:28 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (NIV)

Where does the strength come from to keep climbing... to make it to the top in your day and in your calling?

Real rest iS found in a person, not a place or event.

"Come to Me," Jesus says.

As we come to Jesus, we are shown how he Will bring us rest.

Take my yoke on you and learn from me.(Matt. 11:29)
How does a yoke bring you rest?

Jesus invites us to walk under his yoke. He is walking with us. When are surrendered to Jesus... when we learn to keep in step with him, we are able to carry the yoke - because he is actually carrying the main weight. When we pull against Jesus... when we get out of step - the weight is misplaced. The burden becomes too heavy.

Weariness of soul comes from being out of step with Jesus.
Increased surrender to Jesus brings increased rest to the soul.
Jesus says, "You can trust me. I am gentle and humble at heart. Follow me as we walk together in the yoke. Walking in independence from me always results in heaviness. And I long to bring you rest."

Surrender to Jesus in the details of your life and know increased rest for your soul. This is his promise.
