A big name of the 80's was John Hughes. He was a writer and producer of many big film names. He was an American director, producer and screenwriter. He produced some of the most famous comedy movies of the 1980's.

Some of his movies include 16 Candles, The Breakfast club , Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Pretty in Pink.

John Hughes movies are so iconic, most of them being teen movies. In 1984, he made is debut with 16 Candles. After releasing this movie he sighed a contract with Paramount. After this he continued with his string on teen scenes, such as, The Breakfast club and Weird Science.

Molly Ringwald, appearing in 16 Candles and Pretty in Pink, she became a famous actor of the 80's, later in life she played a role in the ABC Family show The Secret life of the American Teenager.
