About Us

The Prashanthi Center for Human Development is the East Coast Center for the Divine Will Foundation and has been established to further the Mission of our mentor, teacher and founder, Sri Sathya Sai Baba. His dictum of LOVE ALL-SERVE ALL is our guiding light as we offer a variety of services and programs all aimed at alleviating human suffering, promoting environmental responsibility and creating new opportunities for those in need.

Swami, as we call Him, has taught us that “Hands that help are Holier than lips that pray”. In that vein, we endeavor to make spirituality a practical experience. We work to meet the most pressing needs of communities we serve. We do so with a recognition that Love for All Creation is the unifying, guiding and driving force behind our efforts.

Since Swami’s departure from His physical body in 2011, our organizations have continued this mission worldwide. We have built Pediatric Heart Care facilities in Raipur and Delhi with another to be inaugurated in November 2018 in Mumbai. The ground-breaking ceremony for another hospital located in Kolkata is scheduled for November, 2019. Our affiliate in Fiji, Sai Prema Foundation, recently inaugurated a completely free of cost medical center in the heart of Suva-which was built from the ground up in 13 weeks. The construction of a pediatric care hospital next to that clinic and serving the entire south Pacific Region is scheduled to begin soon. Our members have built 15 campuses providing free education with another 15 planned to open over the next few years. Additionally created was the breakfast program, water programs and the innovative econocare program providing training and jobs to the unemployed.

All of our programs are, nonetheless, non-religious and non-denominational.

Divine Will Foundation (DWF) is part of a much larger collaborative; the Sai Global Federation of Foundations (SGFF) which is a non-religious, non-denominational, non-political spiritual group promoting harmony by serving humanity. SGFF transcends the barriers of gender, caste, creed, ethnicity, and color as well as all national boundaries. With over 60 members in 30 plus countries, it is a global effort towards personal and societal transformation through loving service to all creation.

We collaborate with many like-minded organizations. We also work with major universities and governments. Our Delhi hospital was inaugurated by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India while our Fiji medical center was inaugurated by Frank Bainimarama, the Prime Minister of Fiji.

LOVE ALL– SERVE ALL

Free Hospital Care

Since the mid-1940s Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, a holy man in southern India, has been focused on providing services to those in need. He built schools and general hospitals in the local area around the village of His birth. In 1991, He opened a 300-bed super specialty hospital in this village providing totally free health care services to those in need throughout India. This was followed by a second larger hospital in 2001. Sri Sathya Sai Baba is internationally recognized for these super specialty hospitals, free schools and universities, as well as his social uplift programs including clean water projects serving millions of Indians free of charge.

Over 4 million people from poor communities have received service free of charge from the 3 hospitals established by Bhagvan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, a holy man in southern India. The hospitals address every medical condition from dental care to complex brain and heart procedures. Sai Baba is internationally recognized for his super specialty hospitals, universities, and social uplift programs such as clean water projects that serve millions of Indians free of charge.

Pediatric Care

Our global efforts originated in India but have expanded globally. We currently have two state-of-the-art Pediatric Cardiology Care Hospitals operating in India with several more planned (including one which will open in November of 2018 and another in November of 2019). We also have medical centers operating in a number of countries such as Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and Fiji with Pediatric Heart Hospitals in the planning stages,

Our hospitals in India have already provided thousands of free, life-saving corrective open-heart surgeries to children with congenital heart defects as well as medical treatment in other areas to tens of thousands. Our medical teams have travelled outside of India to perform these life-saving operations to those in need in other countries. We offer free educational opportunities from grade school thru graduate school. While this is primarily in India, we also have schools in Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Australia and other countries.

Clean Water and Nutrition

Our efforts include serving those lacking drinking water by providing water filtration systems and water supply stations to many afflicted areas. Many of our members provide food to the hungry-one member focuses on providing breakfast to children who would otherwise go to school hungry. Currently, they provide a free breakfast to over 120,000 children daily with over 5 million meals having been served.

Addressing Poverty and Homelessness

One of our members, PeopleShores provides job training in technology to the un- and under-employed. They then hire the graduates in an innovative new program which is already employing over 4200 currently in the US and India. Our program, Sai Ashreya, has begun to work with homeless youth taking them from street to stability in the US.

Another of our member organizations, Hope Collaborative, provides impactful leadership training to youth worldwide. This organization is one of our partners in the Prashanthi Center for Human Development. They are also spear-heading our efforts to create and deploy a unique internet platform that will accelerate the speed of progress and improve outputs of our member organizations. The focus is to develop best practices in funding, strategy, execution and deployment that can be replicated by members of the federation and offer the same to all who want it.

ALL OF OUR WORK IS DONE COMPLETELY FREE OF COST TO PARTICIPANTS

We are not touting our work nor praising ourselves for these efforts. We realize they are but a drop in the bucket measured against the need in the world. Our intent is to create a sense of hope and possibility and by working together, we can greatly help alleviate human suffering, improve the lives of millions and the health of our planet.

We are willing collaborate with any and all groups who share the common vision of uplifting humanity, preserving the environment, and creating a peaceful more loving world. The Prashanthi Center for Human Development is offered to you for that purpose.

Now is the time to create the change we seek. Working together we can achieve the goals. We invite you to join us in this much needed effort and to use our center to support your efforts.

The world has shown considerable progress in the past decade improving the conditions of people living in extreme poverty. The United Nations reports that extreme poverty rates have been cut by more than half since 1990. Yet, gigantic challenges remain in reaching the sustainable development goals as when populations in chronic poverty continue to reel from the its devastating effects of poverty. Poverty is an affliction causing hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and basic services, social discrimination and exclusion, and lack of participation in decision-making. [http://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/poverty/]

The costs of enduring and chronic poverty on societies, governments, and specifically the lives of millions of human beings in crisis is hard to calculate. It is a crushing phenomenon that Mohandas Gandhi who freed millions of people in South Africa and India called “violence.” Humanity endures urgent and global crises daily with a world population that cannot feed itself, provide medical care for families, and educate a rapidly growing population.

We have formed a global federation of foundations called the Sai Global Federation of Foundations that is working to help end global poverty.

We have come together from over 30 countries to support each other's work with our resources, experience and skills in their efforts to deal with the needs of the poor medically, nutritionally, educationally and environmentally. This federation will continue to expand providing each member with best practices in funding, strategy, execution and deployment that can be replicated. Working together we know we can make a difference.

You are invited to join us in creating the global shift towards a more loving, compassionate, inclusive and responsible world.
