National Capital Car Show Automobiles as works of art

I am not a car buff but I was interested in going to the National Capital Car Show in Ottawa, Ontario to see what kind of interesting cars I could take pictures of. This was the second time the car show has been held and it was my first time to the show. I was not disappointed at what I saw.

2006 Dodge Charger R/T

Many of these automobiles were works of art, carefully restored, maintained and polished. They were a sight to behold and proved to be a photographic feast for image taking.

Muscle Cars

There were different categories of cars but the two I like the most were the muscle cars and the classic cars, especially those from the 1950s and 1960s.

The Bat Mobile
Popped Hoods

Many cars had their hoods open so you could see the detail of the restoration and how well the engines were maintained and polished.

White Caddy

This Porsche Spyder got a lot of looks. It’s windshield was very small and almost invisible.

The weather was near perfect for picture taking. The sun was out giving good light and there were enough clouds to make the background sky interesting. The sunshine created some interesting reflections on the well polished car bodies.

Pontianc Catalina 1957

One of my favourites was this 1959 Chevrolet Corvette. Very sporty and in mint condition.

Model Logos
Chevy El Camino

And don't forget about the interiors.

Cadillac Spare Tire

It is always important to do some close ups of different aspects of an automobile and not just focus on the entire vehicle.

Although I tried my best to wait until people got out of the way, sometimes having people in the shot with a car gives the photograph an added dimension.
