Paris Two weeks - September 2015

We just returned home from our trip to Paris. Many of you contributed helpful advice and recommendations. We wanted to report back with some trip highlights.

First of all we had a wonderful trip. While we crammed a lot of stuff in two weeks, we also balanced that off with some laid back cafe people watching.

We started things off with a bike tour of the city. This turned out to be a good way to get the lay of the land.
Food glorious food everywhere. Our most memorable meal was at Bistrot Paul Bert.
Our only trip outside of Paris was to Monet's gardens and estate in Giverny. The train ride is about an hour to Normandy. At the train station in Giverny we hooked up with our bike tour to the gardens.
Of course we visited many museums, cathedrals and galleries - Orsay, Louvre, European Center for Photography, etc. A concert of Vivaldi's Four Seasons at Saint Chapelle was very special.
Yes, I played petanque. On two occasions I played with Richard's boys at Arenes de Lutece. It was a good connection to make.
We got our money's worth from our Navigo metro passes. Our travels over two weeks took us to over one half of the twenty arrondissments.
Two wheels is the way Parisans go. It is said that sixty percent of Parisans do not own a car.
