What was Jennie Finch's big motivation? by-Jessica Keary

Jennie finch is an amazing athlete that has all softball players trying to follow in her footsteps. Jennie lived her life striving to become better at this amazing sport. Jennie Finch, number twenty seven, has been through it all. Wins, and loses, she has never given up. She believes that no one should ever give up.

“And my dad drilled it in my head, you know, 'If you want it bad enough, and you're willing to make the sacrifices, you can do it. But first you have to believe in yourself.” -Jennie Finch. This quote shows that no matter how hard she tried to play softball, people always gave her more problems that she had to face. Jennie slowly got better and better and improved on all the work she needed to focus on. Jennie is possibly one of the best softball players to ever live.

Speaking of Jennie Finch never giving up, Jenny has won two Olympic medals for softball. She has won one gold medal and one silver medal. Jennie won the gold medal in 2004 and led her team to victory with her amazing batting average and pitching skill. Jennie won the silver medal in the 2008 in the summer Olympics.

Jennie Finch sadly retired in 2010. Jennie said that she wanted to focus more on her family and not spend as much time practicing pitching and batting. Also if Jennie wanted to stay with softball, she would have tournaments and couldn't get anything done in the house. The exact date it was retired from Jennie was by the University of Arizona on May 9, 2010.

Jennie Finch said she hasn't had a better experience in her life before she started becoming a world wide star for the sport. Jennie came a long way and turned out to an amazing player that had no limits when it came to pitching, batting, or fielding. Jennie will always know that softball was a very important part of her life that she will never forget. She has played for multiple teams and treated them all like her life. Jennie will forever be in softball history.

Number 27 will go down as Jennie Finch's number forever and she will always remember the hopes and dreams she had as a little girl.
