Pasture Valley Newsletter December 2018

Pasture Valley wishes you a Blessed Christmas and New Year

Matthew 1: 21 “ She will give birth to a son and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins. “

May this Christmas be a time of joy, peace and love. The Pasture Valley children performed their annual Christmas play. The theme was “ It is more blessed to give than to receive”. Each child was asked to give a small present to each other during the final rehearsals the day before. Today each of the children was blessed with a wonderful gift. It was a real joy to see each child open their present.

Hope Outreach Christmas Function

Once again we held a Christmas function for the children in our community on the 1st of December. It was a beautiful day and the children had fun with games, crafts and face painting. T-shirts were given to the children with the following Bible verse from Joshua 1:9 “ Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God is with you”. We are grateful to All4Jesus foundation for sponsoring this event. Each child received a sweetie pack and a bag containing toiletries, stationery and a toy.

Christmas for Bambanani Ladies

The end of the year is a special time when we meet with the ladies, share God’s word and encourage the ladies to keep on doing God’s work in their communities. This year has seen tremendous growth with the Bambanani Crafts project and it was a joy to be able to visit the 4 groups of ladies to hand out food parcels and bonuses with Rasel.

Christmas Celebrations in Hlatikulu

Children from Gogo Nde centre and Zondle Girls Care Centre were invited to celebrate Jesus’s birth at the Anglican Church. They each received a meal, sweetie packs and bags with toiletries and stationery. One of the children that was supported gave a testimony of how he would not have achieved his teachers degree if it were not for God’s people being in his life and encouraged the children to make use of the opportunities they are given.

Over 20 children graduated from our Growing Faith Preschool at Ekuthuleni this year. It was a great privilege to attend the graduation ceremonies of many of the preschools that are supported by Pasture Valley. The teachers do an amazing job teaching the children and encouraging them to grow in their faith. Thakona also graduated from her ministry course with Ambassadors of Hope and will be starting her own business. The pastors training members also graduated with a special ceremony at Pasture Valley in November.

Schools have closed and the children are on their holiday break. This holiday the children have been part of sewing, craft, music and carpentry clubs. Bee boxes are being made in the carpentry workshop. We have also had another cooking competition and been on a nature walk to teach the children about conservation. I could not resist taking a photo of the girls with flowers in their hair!
