Falling Into Change

Haven’t you noticed how simple fall is?

Its carefree wind drops the leaves at your toes

If only it were as easy and simple

To drop the things we must let go

The year is almost over

All is said and done

But no matter what events transpired

A brand new season has begun

So with every wisp of the crisp fall breeze

And with every sprightly step I take

I feel not only a change of weather

But also a change of heart awake

Haven’t you noticed how simple fall is?

Everything lifeless drops at your toes

And so I picked up my bucket of dead, dry leaves

And dropped the things

I must let go
