February 2019 Superior North Catholic District School Board

100th Day of School Celebrations

The 100th day of school is a great way for elementary school teachers to celebrate the various mathematical concepts that can be taught using the number 100. From the very first day of school, our schools begin keeping track of the number of days they've been in school in anticipation of the 100th day of school!

Classroom teachers and educators have been engaging our students in activities that promote fun and memorable learning. These activities include physical activities that include doing 10 different sets of ten 10 exercises as a way to learn the concept that 10 sets of 10 equal 100; bringing in a collection of 100 items; making patterns and necklaces using 100 of an item; creating 100-day shirts; scavenger hunts and special lunches and celebrations with our school families.
