Bronco Bulletin january 8, 2020

On Thursday, all families received an email from Kerry Birmingham regarding the anticipated return to in seat school. We ask that ALL families make a selection, through the parent portal of PowerSchool, for each student, either virtual or in-person. The deadline to make a selection is 5pm on Tuesday, January 12th. As of today we only had approximately 200 students make their choice. If you have not, please take a moment to login in and make your students selection.

The email from Mrs. Birmingham will include directions, helpful links and information for families to understand and make informed decisions. If you have questions, please reach out to the Boulan Park office.

School Pictures - Update

We have rescheduled Picture Day for Tuesday, February 2 and Thursday, February 4, 2021. We are currently working with our photographers on a schedule and hope to share next week.

The Troy High Band Boosters would like to invite 8th grade students and their families to attend our Informational Open House on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 7:00pm via Zoom. This meeting is designed to give students who are considering registering for Band or Color Guard during their high school years more information to assist in the decision making process. An overview of the Band and Color Guard programs will presented. Current TC Band members and boosters will be on hand to answer questions about the band and color guard programs.

To help in planning, please RSVP for this event by using the button below.

We are very excited to partner with our friends at Baker Middle School to help support the ONE TROY Food Drive.

The Tina Houser Bridge the Gap Food Pantry at Morse Elementary has a mission to feed those in our learning community. In regular times, they provide food to about a hundred families in Troy each week, but more recently, they have been supplementing food for hundreds of families. We believe that the OneTroy community should come together to support the program.

On Wednesday, January 13th, and Thursday, January 14th, community members will be invited to drop off donations at Morse Elementary school. Wednesday will be a non-contact donation day where food can be left outside the main entrance. On Thursday, the community will host a reverse food bank where community members can simply open their trunks, and volunteers will unload donations.

Troy School District Preschool Enrollment Starts on January 19th

Virtual Club Information

Don't delay! It is time to join the Stock Market Game Club group in Schoology!

The game is a computer simulation of the actual Stock Market. Students will receive an imaginary $100,000 to invest in any stock or bond listed on one of the American stock exchanges. The goal is to earn the most money during the ten-week game. The game is for all BPMS students and begins Feb 22 and ends April 30. Mr. Martin will be sending out usernames and passwords soon. It is not required to attend the after-school Stock Market Game Club Zoom meetings (every Tuesday we have school, starting Feb 9) to play the game. If you have never played the game, attend (3-4pm) the Feb 9 meeting (except if you are in one of Mr. Martin's classes) to learn how to play. Weekly meetings will be hosted by members of the THS Economics Club. Weekly meetings will end on March 30. Mr. Martin will accept the first 250 students who join the group to play the game. The group access code in Schoology is: 82B7-W9Q9-JRQVV

The most important thing parents and caregivers can do right now is to keep a love of learning alive for their children. Parents and caregivers are essential partners in supporting learning at home, but what does this mean? Parents do not need to be teachers or content area experts. Please join our Partnerships@Home Learning Series for some ideas about fostering curiosity and a sense of wonder during everyday family life. Registration can completed at the link below. Upcoming sessions include:

Ensuring the Well-Being of Your Family, Especially During COVID-19

Home Libraries as Mirrors and Windows

Creating Routines (and Calming the Storm)
