Sentinel Snapshot May 17, 2019

A big thank you to our partners at BSN and Nike for their continued support of Steilly Athletics.

Staff Updates

Congratulations to our new Assistant Principal, Ms. Katie Redman!

Ms. Redman currently serves as the College and Career Coordinator for Steilacoom High School while completing her principal certification program. She served as a math teacher and ASB advisor at the high school since 2014. Prior to teaching at Steilacoom High School, Katie taught in the Franklin Pierce School District.

We are also happy to welcome two new teachers to the Sentinel family. Mrs. Jaci Van Wyhe will teach Photography & Video, and Ms. Hayley Sayer will join our Science department!

Announcements

To the families of all our incoming 9th graders...we hope you can come to campus next Tuesday, May 21 for Future Freshman Night. We will have a presentation from our administrative and counseling teams, tours for our future freshmen, and a special safety talk just for parents. Our program begins at 6:30, in the SHS Theater, next Tuesday. We hope you join us!

Our district office has published their summer hours for the public. After the school year ends, you can still receive services from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM until normal operations begin at each school on August 12, 2019.

The 5K for Water in Tanzania is tomorrow. The races begin at 10:00 AM at the high school.

If your student is looking for a great summer job, maybe they should consider being a lifeguard for the City of Lakewood! Check out the application here.
