Mina Alvarado-Goldberg is a 16-year-old photographer from Central Los Angeles. Mina was born in raised in Echo Park, and is currently a junior at Grand Arts in Downtown LA. She has lived in LA all her life, born and raised in the neighborhood of Echo Park. As a portrait photographer and photojournalist, Mina is driven by the intricate stories of the diverse people in her life and across Los Angeles, and she hopes to use my art to highlight those stories. She loves to work in both film and digital, observing and documenting all that is going on around her. This is Mina’s second year with Las Fotos Project and her first year as a member of the Youth Advisory Council.
Mina is interested in working alongside small businesses such as eco-friendly and sustainable fashion and jewelry brands on creative projects in the future. She is an advocate for social justice and is especially passionate about womxns' rights and sustainability. Mina works to listen to and amplify voices of underrepresented communities in the art world, and she hopes hope to connect her multicultural identity as a Guatemalan Jew with her photography and creative work in future projects.
