Launching the African Ministers’ Council on Water Strategy 2018–2030 and the Knowledge Management Strategy 2017.
The strategy has been prepared with the overarching goal of strategically positioning AMCOW to do a great deal more to deliver on its commitments to: 1) assure the dignity of the people of Africa by providing adequate and sustained sanitation services; and 2) develop, manage, and utilise water resources to assure water, food and energy security in Africa.
The AMCOW Knowledge Management document aims to outline the necessary strategy, and has been developed with reference to AMCOW's operational planning process and existing policies. It recommends formalisation of functions and responsibilities for Knowledge Management at the Secretariat, and suggests indictors for evaluating the utility of AMCOW's KM work
The AMCOW Strategy 2018–2030 will draw lessons from the factors underlying AMCOW’s achievements to date, placing water at the heart of development planning, and raising the priority given to water for food, energy and industrial production
