Water in the past. bY MIREIA CORRAL AND mARIA GALISTEO.

We interviewed Mireia's grandpa to find out about water in the past, we also interviewed Maria's grandma. Mireia's grandpa explained that he walked 100 metres with a water pitcher to arrive to a paticular fountain, called the ''Chorillo fountain'' in Almeria. They did not have a shower in the bathroom, but they used to wash themselves with a washbasin. Mireia's grandpa thinks that now we waste more water than in the past.

Maria's grandma collected water from the ''El Panyo" fountain, she collected it in pitchers. It was heavy but she carried them together with her sister. She had access to potable water when she was 14 years old. They always had water. In a big basin they washed clothes , but also in public wash houses. Sometimes they did the laundry in the river. They took "a shower" in basins. They did not have a washing machine. She said that less water was spent.
