Burlington Royals Marketing Opportunities

The Burlington Royals are the Advanced-Rookie affiliate of the Kansas City Royals in the Appalachian League. The Royals season runs from mid-June to the end of August, with playoffs ending before Labor Day. 34 regular season games and one exhibition game are hosted in Burlington each season.

Fairchild Stadium 1960s

Originally known as Fairchild Stadium, the Royals play all home games at Burlington Athletic Stadium. It now features the same grandstand pictured above with several improvements, along with two handicapped seating bleachers on both 1st base and 3rd base sides. Stadium capacity is 3,216. Burlington Athletic Stadium has hosted beer festivals, concerts, wrestling matches, collegiate baseball tournaments, and more. The stadium made several cameos in famous sports movie Bull Durham.

THE FUTURE STARTS HERE

Since 2007, the B-Royals have seen 20 former players make their MLB debut.

Burlington has also seen former interns and staff members move on to become successful baseball executives.

2017 Minor League Baseball Executive of the Year (as voted by Ballpark Digest), Ryan Keur was in Burlington from 2011-2016.
Savannah Bananas President Jared Orton began his career in baseball working in Burlington (2012, 2014-2015).

AWARDS

The Royals were voted "Best Family Night Out" by the Mebane Enterprise in 2015.

Appalachian League Executive of the Year given to Royals front office members four (4) times in seven (7) seasons.

Appalachian League Organization of the Year 2014, 2015, & 2016.

2018 Appalachian League Community Service Award.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Every year, the Royals hold game-worn specialty jersey auctions to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Alamance County and the Autism Society of North Carolina. All proceeds from the auctions go to the organizations.

Star Wars Night jerseys

The Royals annual 5K Fun Run/Walk for Autism Awareness is on its seventh year in 2019. All proceeds from the 5K benefit the Autism Society of North Carolina.

2016 Beer Festival benefiting the United Way of Alamance County.

The Royals host several drives over the course of the season - blood drives for the American Red Cross and Community Blood Center of the Carolinas, canned food drives and a back-to-school drive benefiting the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, and a dog food drive to benefit the Humane Society of Alamance County.

2018 Bark in the park

Operation Million Minutes, the Royals summer reading program, is designed to motivate youth around Alamance County to read 360 minutes or more during their summer break. The goal each year is to reach one million minutes, and all readers are celebrated with a night dedicated to them and a parade on the field before the game!

Alamance Regional Medical Center and Burlington Royals partner to donate $5 to the American Cancer Society for every strikeout by a Royals pitcher during the season, up to 500 strikeouts, in an effort to Strike Out Cancer. During the 2018 season the Royals met that goal, and $2500 was donated to the American Cancer Society.

BALLPARK SIGNAGE

Burlington Athletic Stadium signage provides high visibility and positive associations for captive audiences of Royals fans, special event attendees, and viewers driving by.

OUTFIELD WALL SIGNS

Present your brand identity on an 8'x20' sign on the outfield wall. These are located in prime locations and visible to a vast majority of fans at the ballpark. These signs also appear in marketing materials, as well as on the Royals website and social media.

We build creative elements centered around your business to showcase your brand during key points of the in-game entertainment.

FIELD OF DREAMS PROGRAM

The Royals Field of Dreams program gives youth teams the opportunity to meet the players before the game and go out onto the field during the National Anthem for free. Youth team players in uniform will be announced alongside the Royals' players during the pre-game introductions for our home games in the 2019 season.

Sponsor will receive naming rights and be included in any promotion of the program.

BETWEEN INNING PROMOTIONS

Games and contests that showcase your brand and include prizes like coupons and gift cards to your business.

GAME ACTION CHALLENGES

Home run inning - if the Royals hit a home run in a certain inning of the game, fans receive something from your business (coupon, gift card, etc.)

Strikeout batter of the game - a player on the opposite team is chosen as the "Strikeout batter." If that player strikes out during the game, the fans win a coupon, gift card, or other promotional item from your business.

Stolen base inning - If a Royals player steals a base during one inning in the game, fans win a coupon, gift card, or other promotional item from your business.

KIDS RUN THE BASES

Following every Sunday home game, children get the opportunity to run the bases just like the pros!

MAGNET SCHEDULE

Magnet schedules are distributed during the first few games of the season at the gates. Magnet schedules maintain their spot on home & shop appliances all season long.

The patch would be on the upper chest so that it would be visible at all time and could be easily seen in any photos that are taken with Bingo.

BINGO PHOTOBOOTH

One of the common complaints that you'll hear all around any MiLB game is that someone can never find the mascot. Even though he's the best mascot in the world, Bingo can only be at one place at one time. To give fans the opportunity to take a picture with Bingo that they may have missed before, the B-Royals are installing Bingo's photobooth. You'll be able to find Bingo at this photobooth during the 7th inning. The booth will be be located next to the merchandise stand.
