The Blessing of Industrial Development By mason engelken // Hour 4

Industrial development had its ups and downs in this antebellum era. It wasn't the best for the individual but it helped the group widely. Helping America and doing crazy things for the country. Although it did lead to many things bad it helped the country prosper and show the world what America is capable of.

Rapid industrial development has been a blessing for America because it boosted the economy, improved transportation, and helped improve communication.

Economy Boosts

The economy of America was greatly impacted by the rapid industrial development of the world. This development would provide more money feeding in for the country as they sold to other countries and made it here in the U.S.. Many jobs were also a result of this development which helped the economy as well. These things all helped America's economy boost and prosper as it took off in this time. The boosted economy was great in expanding the U.S. and showing people what we could do.

Improved Transportation

The transportation in the antebellum era was greatly improved due to industrial development. They had to find new ways to get things places faster. Always trying to find new ways to make things work just a little bit smoother and quicker. They had ideas and some of those ideas became reality. They would go to make things like the Erie Canal which speeds the whole process of shipping and trade up and helped improve the problems they were facing. Yet, one of the greatest transportation inventions of this era was the steamboat. The steamboat could get places faster than many people could think of at the time and this helped people to trade and grow the steamboat which would evolutionize into extroidanary things.

Improved Communication

The communication in the antebellum era changed dramatically. They would have to send mail back and forth or communicate in other ways over long distances. But in this era something great would happen that would change the lives of today's people and lead to something we use everyday. This invention was the telegraph, a way to communicate without having to wait 4 weeks for a response. This helped America greatly, and was a blessing for America, as it was much needed at the time and pushed on to great era's of inventions and ideas.
