About Me

I am a rising senior business student at California State University, Fullerton with a concentration in finance and a minor in economics. I have experience with financial analysis and portfolio management from being in the student managed investment fund organization at my school, and Titan Capital Management. Upon graduating in Spring 2019, I hope to find an entry-level analyst position in credit or equity research, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital.

Experience

Work experience

Credit Analyst Intern -- Titan Capital Management (June 2018 -- Present):

As an analyst of Titan Capital Management, I manage a $1.5 million portfolio for the CSUF Philanthropic Foundation alongside other equity and credit analysts. My role is performing credit research for the fixed income portion of the portfolio, where I utilize Bloomberg to look at individual bonds and/or bond funds. I also use Bloomberg to conduct industry and economic analysis using functions such as C15, and ECO. A major part of my role as a credit research analyst entails company risk valuation using the 10-K filings; primarily looking at financial statements, risk factors, and management discussion and analysis.

Accounting Intern -- South Coast Air Quality Management District (June 2017 -- Nov 2017):

Participated in a rotational program that gave me exposure to different areas of corporate finance: cash management, accounts payable, and budgeting. Assisted in the preparation of an annual $150 million budget using Microsoft Access. Processed invoices and created vendors using PeopleSoft Financials. Created pivot tables in Excel to organize data entries.

Shift Lead -- Robeks (Mar 2015 -- May 2017):

Performed shift lead procedures that involved training new employees under company policy, supervising the work station, and processing mid and end-of-day sales in excel.

Campus experience

Vice President -- Student Managed Investment Fund (Apr 2018 -- Present):

Facilitate discussions at each meeting to share knowledge of current economic events and investment opportunities between the team directors, analysts, and junior analysts. Evaluate appropriate investment strategies for both the equity and fixed income teams. Update and manage the SMIF portfolio to guarantee compliance with the CFAOC investment guidelines. Used Bloomberg API functions on excel to auto update the historical prices for all the securities in the portfolio.

Credit Research Analyst -- Student Managed Investment Fund (Sep 2017 -- Present):

In the student managed investment fund, I am an analyst for the fixed income team which is categorized as a fund of funds. The process for fund analysis included credit analysis of top holdings, and an analysis of the fund managers’ investment philosophy, performance, and experience. Gained insight of different types of fixed income funds, and types that are suitable in different economic environments. Utilize Bloomberg terminals to research and analyze equity and fixed income securities. Presented buy or sell recommendations of securities or funds to be added to the portfolio. Analyze different economic indicators and policies, and their impact on the bond market.
