Chippenham Schools Netball and Football Tournament

On Saturday our Netball and Football teams took part in the annual "Chippenham Schools Tournament"

Our Football team came up against some tough opposition, winning, drawing and losing. The team played well and showed wonderful team spirit.

Our Netball team played some brilliant netball, wining all but one match (1 draw). They finished town champions and completes a very successful season.

Both teams were a credit to Monkton Park school and should be very proud of themselves.

A massive thank you to Mr Slee, Mrs Douglas, Mrs Porter and Mrs Quarrell for giving up their time to coach the the children throughout the season and for giving up their Saturday morning to look after the teams.

FOMPS Fundraising..............

This year FOMPS are busy fundraising with the aim of helping the school to purchase an outdoor classroom for the school. We hope to have all of the funding in place to allow us to open the classroom in time for out 50th Birthday celebrations.

These are some ideas of what we hope to buy:

Funding a project as large as this, is a huge undertaking for the school & FOMPS and may mean that the school has to forgo smaller purchases to allow us to save. However this term members of FOMPS have managed to secure us a number of items and services for free! Saving a huge amount of money which can all be put towards or classroom.

Morrisions Supermarket donated all of the Smarties for the Easter fundraising challenge. Worth £60.00

Karcher donated 50 metres of hose pipe, a hose trolley, sprinkler and spray gun. This will allow the children to water the raised beds during the summer. Worth £150.00

Artisan Tool Hire (Bumpers Farm) have donated a Turf Cutter. This will allow us to prepare the ground ready for the Wild Flower Meadow. - Worth £75.00

A kind donation of an Apple tree and a Plum tree. Worth £80.00

That's £365.00 worth of donation. Thank you to all of the business who have helped us.

Thank you for all of the donations.
