Bolton Adult Autism SupportBefriending Plus Service
Do you want to know more about our Befriending Plus Service?
Read on to find out more!
The BAAS Befriending Plus service was set up in October 2018 to provide a specific befriending service for autistic adults in the Bolton area.
Individuals and their families were telling us that isolation was a big problem for autistic adults in Bolton and so the idea of a specific befriending service was born to help tackle isolation and loneliness in the autistic community.
What we provide:
Specifically trained volunteers give up their time to meet up with an individual and take part in activities which the individual is interested in. This could be a variety of activities from going to the cinema, shopping, going out for a meal or coffee, hiking...the individuals choice!
A dedicated service coordinator to help with any transitions, meetings and matches.
A monthly drop-in social and life-skills evening where autistic adults and their families can come along and enjoy a chilled out evening with other adults and families from the Bolton area.
Support to families and individuals on many different aspects of life from other members of the BAAS group.
"Thanks for all you and everyone do to make life happier for us, it's much appreciated."
"I found the drop-in last Thursday really helpful and it did a lot for me."
