Loggerhead Sea Turtle Kimberly Reusch- Specific Organism Project

They can be found on the coastal tropical and subtropical waters like the Atlantic Ocean from Argentina to Nova Scotia. They are very common in North America on the barrier islands from North Carolina to the Florida Keys. Founded on the ocean or the bay.

Behaviors: Courtship, mating, and nesting

They have a problem with trying to find a place to live. They are harassed while nesting, overharvesting of its eggs, & they can die because of commercial fishing gear.

Ensuring that they have protections afforded to them under Endangered Species Act. Which means they have a protected habitat in the Pacific and Atlantic ocean.

In 2014, the federal government finally protected 685 miles of beaches from Mississippi to North Carolina and more than 300,000 square miles of ocean on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts
