School News

NSWCIS Swimming Carnival

We had 3 students represent the ASISSA team at the NSWCIS Swimming Carnival last week. Congratulations to Kendra Gordon, Eliza Monteleone and Elliot Young for a fantastic effort and this very competitive level.

Year 3 Pyjama Day

Year 3 wrote a persuasive text to Mrs Streatfeild, asking if they could have a Pyjama Day this term and she said yes!! Looks like weather wise it was the perfect day for PJ’s at school!!! Even Miss Shanley wore a penguin onesie!

Upcoming School Events

We will be holding our ANZAC Service on the 1st day back at school -Monday 24th April at 2.00pm.

All family members are welcome to attend the service. We would love to see you there!!!!!

School Cross Country

Our School Cross Country will be held on Friday 28th April straight after Chapel. It is for 7-12 year olds. Parent helpers will be needed in the morning to watch children on the course. It would be wonderful if you are able to assist. Helpers will need to be at the front of chapel at 9.30am to get instructions and placements. Please see Miss Sutton if you are able to help.

Band Camp

Band Camp applications are now closed. If your child is attending Band Camp and you have not paid, please do so BY the 8th May . Payment can be made by card over the phone, cash or chq or direct deposit. If paying by direct deposit, please ensure your put your family code & "Band Camp" so we know who has paid.

Winter School Uniform

  • Summer uniform is to be worn until Friday 12th May.
  • Winter uniform is to be worn from Monday 15th May (after Mother's Day).

Middle School News

CSSA Secondary State Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to Billy Christy and Hamish Treatt for swimming so well at the CSSA Secondary State Swimming Carnival on Monday 27th March at Homebush. Both Billy and Hamish came 6th Place in their races, an amazing effort!! Well done guys!!

Year 5/6 Canberra Trip

Our Year 5 and 6 students are having a wonderful time on their Canberra Trip! So far students have been bike riding, horse riding, visiting the Mint, Parliament House and Telstra Tower. Their trip blog is being updated regularly so to see what they've been up to today through the link below!

Years 5/6 Afternoon with Parliament

On Thursday afternoon 30th March, Years 5 and 6 had an "Afternoon with Parliament". Students chose a parliament member throughout history and put together a life sketch, playing that member of parliament on the day answering any questions in character! All the students did a great job - it was a fun informative warm up before the Canberra Camp!

Raising the iGeneration

Brett Ryan from Focus on the Family Australia visited our school on Thursday 30th March. He spoke with students and families sharing his insights and tools on the iGeneration. We hope you all enjoyed his presentation, we have received a lot of positive feedback which is greatly appreciated.

Middle School Upcoming Events

Year 7 Scholarship Exams

Scholarship Exams will be held on Monday, 1st May 2017. If you would like your child to sit these exams please register via the link below by Monday, 24th April. Further information can be found under the "High School" tab on our website.

Year 7 Information Night

An Information Evening for students entering Year 7 in 2018 will be held in the Year 5/6 classrooms on Tuesday, 2nd May. Please arrive by 6.45 pm for a 7.00 pm start. Parents and students are encouraged to attend. Full school uniform is to be worn.

School Banking Commencement - Term 2

There will be NO School Banking on Tuesday 25th April due to ANZAC Day Public Holiday. It will resume as normal Tuesday 2nd May.

Home and School News

Thank you everyone for a very productive and social Term 1. Our Family Fun Day was a huge success with over 700 people in attendance. We also combined with the school chaplaincy program to deliver an extremely successful parent seminar night - Focusing on the Family. Plans are already underway to deliver another one to our school community and beyond.

Term 2 is shaping up to be a very busy one indeed for the Home and School Community with lots of family focused events. Dates to lock in for your diary. More information on these events will be available next Term.

Special Chapel and Mother’s Day Morning Tea. Gourmet morning Tea and a special gift for mum. Cost: $10 p/p

Premier's Reading Challenge

Congratulations to Charlotte Spooner (Yr 3), Srujana Pullela (Yr 5), James Carruthers (Kindy), Thomas Carruthers (Yr 2), Isaac Biden-Kumar (Kindy), Shivon Chakravarti (Yr 1) Claire Han (Yr 2) and Emily Miller (Yr 8) who have all completed the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Keep up the great reading!

Just a reminder that normal library borrowing is continuing this week and any books taken out this week will need to be cared for over the holidays and returned first week of next term. If you would like your child to have extra books to read over the school holidays (max. of 10) please email me or come and see me in the Library.

Adapted by Terry Ryan and featuring young performers from Marian Street Theatre for Young People. Free entrance to performances these school holidays at:
