Reception LL Learning through exploration

What is a pumpkin like on the outside?
In maths group time, the children love playing dice games. It helps them to subitise, count and practise their number recognition.
The children are practicing taking turns and using good manners. They have loved playing this cupcake game that focuses on sharing and turn taking.
We had so much fun exploring the inside of a pumpkin today. Lots of fantastic descriptive language like “disgusting and sticky”, “yacky”, “soft and cosy” and “like goo”.
The children really loved celebrating The wedding of Harry O’Hay and Betty Barley. They enjoyed making cards and lists of things we might need for the Wedding. Afterwards some of the children even made speeches, saying lovely things to Betty and Harry. A lovely afternoon had by all ☺️
