Identity A Bible Study

Who am I? Do I matter? Do I really belong? Can I ever be unconditionally loved? These are questions spoken from a person searching for his identity.

Read Psalm 27:10

Compare human faithfulness to the Father's faithfulness.

Read Psalm 139

How involved is your Father in your life? Does this make you feel uncomfortable? Does it make you feel safe? Does it make you feel significant?

Reread Psalm 139:17-18. How often is your Father thinking about you?

Read Ephesians 1:3-8

When did your Father start thinking about you?

From this passage, describe your identity from your Father's perspective.

Identity is a matter of your will. It is making a choice to accept what your Father says is true... to accept His design of you.
You never know who you really are until you give yourself to the Father and believe that you are who He says you are.

Take some to look over all of these statements from Scripture regarding who God says you are. Will you choose to believe these truths?

Are certain truths in the list above more difficult for you to believe? Why?

Remember - your identity is secure when you agree with your Father's design of you... believing that what He says is true!

If you feel like God is speaking to you, perhaps take a few moments to repent of unbelief and/or rebellion. God could be convicting you of these things related to your rejection of His truth. Choose to believe that you are who He says you are.
