RD 8: Brisbane City V Greater Sydney Rams BALLYMORE STADIUM | SATURDAY 21 October | kick-off 2pm AEST

Round 8 - Home

McInnes Wilson Lawyers Brisbane City have been defeated by the Greater Sydney Rams 31-19 in Round 8 of the National Rugby Championship at Ballymore Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

City led 19-0 in the 35th minute but surrendered a try on the stroke of half time before a scoreless second half by the home side saw the Rams run away with the win.

Brisbane City’s finals hopes are still alive but next weekend’s match against the New South Wales Country Eagles now becomes a must win.

“They managed the conditions a lot better than us in the second half, and we played into their hands by trying to play too much rugby in our own area," Brisbane City head coach Mick Heenan said
“We made too many mistakes and the Rams capitalised.
“This week we’ve got to show up with an aggressive mind set, everything we do has to be done with aggression next week and if we do that we’ll give ourselves a chance,” Heenan said.
