Welcome to my presentation of my design for Coach V's Dream cottage.
I decided to make my house with dimensions 10m by 8m so the area would be 80 square meters. I then took real life rooms in my house and used a little smaller dimensions in the cottage. I took into account that the rooms would be a little smaller since my house is bigger than the cottage. Below is my initial blueprint.
I used the blueprint to make a 3D model on Tinker-cad. Here is the bird's eye view of the house with and without the roof
I then also designed the outside walls, windows and roof of the house.
Here are all the sides on Tinkercad.
After finishing with the design of the house, we had to calculate the cost of some essential items that would be needed in completing the house.
Below, I calculated the cost of heat for 3 months. I had to find the volume of the house and then compare that to the price of heating. It cost 1260 euros
Then I had to find the amount of shingles I needed on the roof. In order to do that I had to find the area of the top rectangles of the triangle prism roof. Then once again, I compared the combine rectangles to the cost of a box of shingles. It needed 9 boxes and cost 810 euros.
Finally, we calculated the cost of the paint needed on the outside walls of the house. I found the area of each wall and subtracted the windows and then compared the combined areas to the prices of paintboxes. It took 4 boxes which costs 80 euros.
In the end, the final price was 2150 euros.
Thank you for listening and I hope you liked my cottage design.
