Happy November! We are only about a month away from the end of the semester. While the job is not done, we would like to congratulate and recognize you for your perseverance during the Fall 2020 semester. We will do all that we can to help you finish the Fall 2020 semester strong and set you up to succeed for the Spring 2021 semester. Remember that UNT is doing all they can support students in every way possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you ever have any questions or concerns related to COVID, including what to do if you think you have symptoms or been in contact with one who tested positive, please refer to the UNT Health Alerts site or contact the UNT COVID Hotline at 844-366-5892.

Fall 2020 UNT Commencement

UNT announced the details for Fall 2020 Commencement which will be live on November 22, 2020 at Apogee Stadium. Be sure to check the Fall 2020 Commencement site for details about the live ceremony and the virtual ceremonies for each college in December 2020. We want to congratulate the Fall 2020 graduates, and we hope you are able to safely celebrate you life-changing accomplishment, however you choose to do it!

UNT Homecoming Week: Nov. 2-7

It is UNT Homecoming Week! While we cannot do our traditional Homecoming events, that does not mean you can't participate! To join the festivities and leave your mark this year, visit the UNT Homecoming site to get involved.

Fall 2020 Non-Traditional Student Week

Non-Traditional Student Week, or "Non-Trad Week" was held October 10 through October 16. There were many fun virtual social events and informative presentations. Special thanks to the UNT Departments that submitted programs and for other departments who invited our Non-Trads to participate!

UNT Pumpkin Week

In place of a live Family Fun Night event, UNT Pumpkin Week was held between October 23 through October 30. Participating students submitted photos of themselves with their families and their carved or designed pumpkins for Halloween. Thank you to the participating students, who will be selected to win prizes for their participation!

Looking for a student roommate? Looking for a student to take over your leasing contract? Create a roommate profile and find like-minded and compatible UNT students. Your account allows you to organize your search results and refer to your searches in the future. Just login from the homepage and take advantage of website features, including searching for local apartments or special housing needs and saving your favorite search results for future viewing.

Non-Traditional Student Book Stipend

The Non-Traditional Book Stipend is specifically designated to be awarded to our non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students based on financial need, academic merit, and a personal statement. Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society for Adult Learners

If you received an email invitation to join Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society for Adult Learners, please pay close attention to the information in your emails. The Alpha Sigma Lambda Induction Ceremony well be held at 5:30 pm on November 17, 2020

Coffee & Convos

The Fall 2020 Coffee & Convos program is here! Coffee & Convos is designed to help students build a relationship with their professor in conversations outside the classroom regarding academic, research, or career matters. Happy Thanksgiving!

Fun Activities

First Baptist Church Denton is providing free item for you and your family this Thanksgiving! Register here for to pick up a box or get more information. You must be able to pickup your items on Saturday, November 14 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. It will be a drive through pickup. You will receive a box of food items along with a $25 gift card to pickup a turkey, ham, or other items at a local grocery store. There are many Thanksgiving outsourcing options in the DFW area including all Cracker Barrel locations with available curbside pickup.

The end of the semester is already stressful enough without the addition of a pandemic and election year. It is more important than ever to de-stress and protect your mental and physical health. Karma Yoga Denton is offering free online classes via Zoom to help you stay peaceful and calm. These classes and other free events can be found on the Discover Denton Calendar.

Armadillo Ale Works has several social-distance friendly events coming up including their Drive-In Concert Series. Load friends or family into the car and go enjoy some live music!

UNT Homecoming 2020 has several events including a treasure hunt, donation drive, a magic show and an oppotunity to pick up a S'Mores kit! Check out the calendar of events here.

It is never too early to start celebrating the holidays. A great way to experince holiday cheer is to drive around looking at holiday lights. While a lot of city-sponsored holiday events may be canceled this year, many people will still put up lights. The Family Guide has provided a list of the best places in the DFW area to see holiday lights!

Was Shakespeare a feminist? This year marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which gave many women the right to vote. To honor this historic milestone, Shakespeare Dallas explores how Shakespeare’s works influenced the fight. This provocative work will be available for streaming through November 30. Register now and a link to access the content will be emailed. Cost: $5-$25.

UNT Perk of the Month

While many performances have been canceled, Shakespeare Dallas still provides several opportunities for engagement and social-distancing activities. With your UNT student ID, you can get discounted prices for in-person events.

Karma Yoga Denton is offering free classes via Zoom during COVID, but if you are interested in a membership, students can get a 10-class card for just $35 by presenting their UNT student ID to their instructor at Karma Yoga.
